About the Artists...

Our love of crafting began on the floor of our mother's sewing room, when we would gather up spare buttons and stitch them to the many scraps of fabric that littered the floor. We cultivated our play into skills under our mother's expert and gentle teaching. We love to create and are always imagining. Everything we make is completely unique and one of a kind. Many loving hours go into each creation; mixing needlework, sculpting, and hand painting with vintage materials and embellishments. Each piece is made to take you back to a simpler time. If we have given you a smile through our art, be sure you have given one back to us.

New Angel (custom order)

Hello all! We have been very busy, and frequently battling horrible bugs with runs and more runs to the doctors, but we finally finished one of our custom orders! We still have another one in the queue, so if you're waiting for a doll, please be patient and you will get it soon!
Thank you Estelle!

some in progress things

I started this horse a while ago, but was never really satisfied with it. I got some feedback on it a bit ago, and I'm going to abide by it! The legs of this horsey will change. I think it will be for the better--definitely!

This is a "Work In Progress" picture for a commissioned doll! (Bethany's sculpt) She's painted it since then, but I love how all the details pop, even now.
I sculpted this old man last year, and because of time limitations, I only got to painting him recently. He's going to have a real-hair beard and real-hair eyebrows.

Slowly but surely coming along

Hello all! I'm sorry for the long awaited post---It feels like it's been a while since I've posted last. January was a very busy month for my whole family. The first of February marked the beginning of the college semester, so every spare moment is very precious and they have mostly been spent on prepairing these dolls! It may not look it according to these photos, but the dolls are very near to being completed. We have some "new" antique fabrics and doo-dads to go with them, aswell. I didn't take a picture of those... We got some new sheeps wool for the doll's hair, and Bethany knitted one of my "guy dolls" a scarf out of some old yarn we found that probably belonged to my great-grandmother!

These are the three sets of wings Bethany has finshed.

This is the doll that will be an Angel for Estelle. :)

I like how this one looks like she came from the 20s! This is Bethany's sculpt, and my paint.

Another one that Bethany sculpted and I painted. This will be a kneeling angel, looking up to Heaven. I think Bethany said she will have her hands in a praying position. :)

Here are the boys, hanging out in ther long underwear!

This is the fella Bethany knitted a scarf for. Love it! (my sculpt)

This one is special, though he may not look too much like it yet. This is the first doll I ever tried to capture the likeness of someone with. He will be finished up like Frederick Douglas, one of my favorite historical figures. I wanted to finish him before the end of February, as February is Black History Month! I'm sure he'll get done soon. :) I'll post more information on Frederick Douglas when I post pictures of this doll finished.

And this is also my sculpt and paint... I wasn't trying, but I think he looks like a young LeVar Burton! (Reading Rainbow and Roots)
I hope to post more soon as their outfits get finished!

two new dolls

Here are two new in progress dolls! The lady will be available at the shop this Friday. (her outfit is almost done, just needs to be put on 'er) Our gnarly gent won't be available for a few months yet... You'll find out why when I post more in progress pictures of him. (hohohum)
